Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 29, 2026

Overview

pLedger is designed from the ground up to protect your privacy. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell your personal data. This policy explains how pLedger handles your information.

Data Storage

All data you enter into pLedger, including receipts, budgets, categories, and recurring bills, is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's Core Data framework. No data is sent to external servers, third-party services, or any infrastructure operated by the developer.

iCloud Sync

If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your data is transmitted directly to your personal iCloud account through Apple's encrypted CloudKit service. The developer of pLedger has no access to your iCloud data. iCloud sync is entirely optional and disabled by default.

Receipt Images

Photos you capture or import are stored locally on your device as part of your receipt records. They are never uploaded to any server or shared with any third party.

Analytics and Tracking

pLedger contains no analytics, no crash reporting services, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking of any kind. Your usage of the app is entirely private.

Open Source

pLedger is open source. The complete source code is publicly available at github.com/chukaufo/pLedger. Anyone can read, audit, and verify that the app behaves exactly as described in this policy.

On-Device Processing

All receipt scanning, text recognition, store name learning, and category detection happen entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. No image or text is sent to external services for processing.

Children's Privacy

pLedger does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
